Use this checklist to find the technical issues that stop Google from crawling, understanding and ranking your website.
Crawling and indexing
- Website uses HTTPS with one preferred version (www or non-www)
- XML sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console
- robots.txt does not block important pages or resources
- Important pages are not tagged noindex
- Canonical tags point to the correct preferred URLs
- No redirect chains or loops
Site structure
- Every important page is reachable within three clicks
- Breadcrumbs are visible and marked up
- No orphan pages without internal links
- Broken internal links are fixed
Speed and mobile
- Core Web Vitals pass for mobile users
- Images are compressed and served in modern formats
- Unused JavaScript and CSS are reduced
- Text is readable and buttons are easy to tap on phones
Structured data and international
- Organization or LocalBusiness schema is valid
- Relevant Service, Product, FAQ or Article schema is present
- hreflang tags are reciprocal between English and Arabic pages
- x-default is set for users of other languages
- Arabic pages use dir="rtl" and lang="ar"
- Search Console shows no major enhancement errors
